I just love the tree tunnel on Kauai. It's just a neat place to drive through.
Someone forgot to tell my daffodils.
One of the best things about summertime...fresh fruits. Not only are they yummy, but they are great photographic subjects.
Trying a new technique on this floral photo taken in the Bahamas. What do you think?
Just back from my Alaskan cruise and working my way through images. This image of Creek Street in Ketchikan just screamed out for a vintage postcard look.
In honor of the upcoming Memorial Day weekend and temperatures that are rising all over the country, here's a blast from the past. This photo was taken after the big ice storm that hit the Cincinnati area in February 2007.
I had an enjoyable day last Saturday at the National Museum of the Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio. I had never been to this wondrous place to see air history. Everything from a Wright Flyer to a Stealth fighter is there. All of the classic planes from WWII are represented and all displayed wonderfully.
I highly recommend a visit to this gem of the Cincinnati area. It's free and the only requirement is that you be sure to wear comfortable shoes and allow yourself plenty of time. There's so much to take in here, you will be amazed. Well worth the trip up I-75.
Here's my new gallery of images from my recent trip to the Cincinnati Zoo. I had some beautiful subjects to work with.
Some purple Irises by a lake in Alaska. This photo was taken in June 2011.
This photo was taken in Alaska driving through in our travels. June, 2011
This photo was taken on the Big Island of Hawaii in January 2011. I loved the little outcropping of land with the palm trees and how it was silhouetted against the setting sun. A perfect scene for just taking in a beautiful sunset...and for taking some beautiful sunset photos.
This photo was taken last spring at Caesar's Creek, a park not too far from me. After hiking back into the woods a little ways, we were greeted with a lovely setting with some great flowing falls to shoot. I tried many techniques and locations. This shot is my best from that day.
Second Saturday Open House will be this Saturday (March 10) at the Loveland Artists Studios on Main. Come see my new studio and take in a fiber arts show in the main hall.
I don't know if it's mid-life crisis, boredom or just a desire to be more creative, but I've taken a big leap in my photography and creative journey. I'm going full fledged business selling prints. I've also rented studio space for both displaying/selling my prints, but also as a creative space to allow me to stretch my wings and see if anything will fly. Photos to follow of my space once it's up and running. I guess I need to take some before photos also. Something to put on the to-do list for today.
